Patricia Dickmann, M.D.
Patricia Dickmann, M.D., is a double board-certified psychiatrist and addiction medicine specialist with more than a decade of experience caring for patients with complex mental health and substance use disorders. She completed her medical training at the University of Minnesota, where she served as President of her Medical School class and later as Chief Resident of the Psychiatry Residency Program.
Dr. Dickmann brings extensive clinical, leadership, and research experience to her practice. During 11 years at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center, she served as Medical Director of Addiction Recovery Services, Medical Director of the Opioid Treatment Program, and Medical Director of Mental Health Homeless Programs. Her work with Veterans was recognized with the prestigious American Legion 2022 National Physician of the Year Award.
A dedicated educator and researcher, Dr. Dickmann has presented nationally and locally on mental wellness and addiction medicine. Her research has explored innovative approaches to treatment-resistant depression and substance use disorders. She is passionate about advancing evidence-based, individualized care and staying at the forefront of emerging treatments in psychiatry and addiction medicine.
Dr. Dickmann provides integrative psychiatric care, combining evidence-based medications and psychotherapy with lifestyle optimization to support mental wellness, whole-person health, and healthy longevity. She has completed a 100-hour MDMA-assisted psychotherapy educational experience led by faculty and clinicians from the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), the Bronx VA, and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She has also completed Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy training through Intero Psychedelic Therapy.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Dickmann serves on the OpenEvidence Medical Advisory Board, supporting the thoughtful integration of artificial intelligence into medicine. She also serves on the Northrop Advisory Committee, supporting the arts and cultural community in the Twin Cities.
