Alexandra Smith

Therapist

Alexandra (Alex) brings openness, warmth, and a desire to genuinely understand who people are and what matters to them. Tending towards an honest and authentic style, Alex believes therapy should be a place where clients feel safe and accepted but also empowered to change what isn’t working for them. She draws from a range of therapeutic approaches, including acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, and Buddhist principles.
Alex has been practicing for nearly a decade and began incorporating ketamine into her practice in 2023. She has completed the introductory training modules at Polaris Insight Center as well as an intensive applied training course at Intero Psychedelic Therapy.

With extensive experience treating anger, relational trauma, and interpersonal issues, Alex often works with veterans, first responders, and men who are new to therapy. She’s worked in a wide range of settings including community, inpatient, residential and outpatient clinics. She has also spent several years providing supervision, training and development for pre-licensed therapists.

Outside of work, you’ll find Alex hiking with her rescue dogs, watching obscure documentaries or reading psychological thrillers. Alex also loves to write. She has been covering mental health issues for a national magazine for nearly a decade and hopes to one day publish her own novel.
