Jason Brethorst

Clinical Trainee

Jason is a former scientist and teacher who came to the field of mental health out of a sense of purpose rooted in helping people heal. He is currently in graduate school working to become a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC). Jason has spent the past few years working in the community as an Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Service (ARMHS) practitioner, which has tremendously impacted his views on mental health and reinforced his belief in a client-centered and collaborative approach to healing. Jason’s approach to therapy can best be described as eclectic; he believes that there are many useful approaches to helping people heal, and that each can be viewed as a tool in our collective toolbox. However, he is especially interested in utilizing psychedelic medicines to generate powerful experiences that can catalyze healing and personal transformation. Those that know Jason would describe him as warm, kind, empathetic, intelligent, and a good listener. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, playing games of all sorts, traveling, and watching sports.
