Mark Willenbring

Mark Willenbring, MD, DFAPA, is an internationally recognized addiction psychiatrist who has been pioneering new ways to treat alcohol and drug use disorders for over 40 years. As Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Minnesota, his research focused on better ways to manage chronic complex conditions, where substance use, mental, and physical disorders are often combined.

Dr. Willenbring’s practice fully integrates treatment for all types of alcohol and drug use disorders and for co-existing mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety or PTSD. It is based firmly in current scientific and clinical understanding of addiction and its treatment. Every treatment plan is unique and flexible, incorporating patient preferences and abilities.
